Volunteers play a critical role in the helping the Minnesota Land Trust achieve its mission of protecting the lands and waters that define our communities and enrich our quality of life. Volunteers are able to extend the Minnesota Land Trust's presence into local communities throughout the state and personally work with landowners when staff might not otherwise be able to do so.

Ways to get involved

  • If you live in near Bemidji, Grand Rapids, or Alexandria, we're looking for volunteer monitors - to learn more, go to: Volunteer Monitoring
  • Assist with events (planning, hosting, working, or cleaning up)
  • Help in the office with filing, database maintenance, and communications
  • Photograph protected properties or events (for experienced photographers with advanced equipment)

Experience directly related to land conservation and natural resource protection is always welcome.

Are you a landowner of a protected property? Landowners make the best volunteers. They understand conservation easements and the work of the Minnesota Land Trust. In addition to being knowledgable monitors, landowners are great event hosts and ambassadors to their neighbors, communities, and legislators.
