Land Management Assistance Programs

Managing and restoring the natural habitat on your property can be technically and financially challenging.

However, many state agencies, federal agencies, and nonprofit organizations offer assistance with land management and habitat restoration on private lands. This page is an initial list of some current programs. It is in its initial stages, so if you know of financial or technical assistance programs that have been of help to you, please let us know.

If you plan to use these programs to make changes to your land, notify the Land Trust so that we may be sure your project is within the terms of your conservation easement and, if required, review the project for approval.

Do you have questions or comments? Do you know of other private landowner assistance programs? Please contact Kristina Geiger at or (651) 917-6295. You may also call 1-877-MLT-LAND (toll free).
